Some of you have been asking about my skin care routine, so here it is…. I have relatively normal skin, perhaps leaning a little on the dry side. I am super militant about skin care, because if I don’t wash my face at night, I will for sure wake up with a breakout; but as long as I wash it, I won’t.
I’ve used the 3-step system from Clinique for dry/combination skin (which basically means normal-dry skin) for about 6 months. It is a little expensive, but the toner (the clarifying lotion) is definitely worth the money: it prevents both redness/dryness and acne, plus it’s a gentle daily exfoliant, so it leaves my skin really smooth. The liquid soap and the dramatically different moisturising lotion don’t do anything crazy you couldn’t find elsewhere but I like them, because they are an ideal match for my skin type: the face wash removes all makeup and cleanses really well but isn’t too drying and the lotion hydrates well, but isn’t too oily.
In the morning, I wash my face with the liquid soap in mild and use the clarifying lotion in strength 2. Then I put on a tinted moisturiser, usually Benefit’s You Rebel in lite. It’s rich enough that I can use it without an additional moisturiser underneath, but for anyone with combination to oily skin this will be too heavy.
At night, if I’m wearing foundation or heavy eye makeup I will use any kind of make up wipes (usually Garnier), before I wash my face again with the liquid soap, and use the toner and the moisturiser. If I’m just wearing tinted moisturiser and mascara, I don’t need a special make up remover, because my favourite mascara (Clinique’s long term formula) is water-soluble.
Extras: I like to use this exfoliating mask by Soap & Glory, called Fab Pore Facial Peel, about once or twice a week. It’s super strong though, I can only leave it on for about five minutes, after that it will burn my face off :). I also like all the fresh Lush masks, right now I have Oatfix and Catastrophe Cosmetic. Oatfix is good against dry spots and flaky skin, it moisturises and exfoliates at the same time. Whenerver my skin gets really red, I’ll use some of the Catastrophe Cosmetic, it calms everything down instantly. I used to be kind of hesitant to buy the Lush masks, because I thought I would never be able to finish the whole tub by the use-by-date (4 weeks). But now I always keep the masks in the fridge and they’ve all lasted way longer than 4 weeks, at least a couple of months.

Sounds like you are really good to your skin! Love your product choices, I must try those masks!
It’s nice to find out what other people do for their skin routine. I too use the Clinique range but use the anti-blemish solutions range and I swear by it. It’s made my face so much clearer. You should try their Anti Blemish corrector gel it tightens pores/ zaps anything unwanted and reduces scarring. Mixed with their 7 day face scrub your onto a winner!
A cool read x
I think that I will be trying one of those maks :)
As long as I avoid dairy, my skin is flawless. Otherwise, wash my face after working out and wear sunscreen. Cool post!
