It’s Sunday! What day could be more appropriate to talk about loungewear? If I had to bet my money on it I would say that this is probably the most neglected category in our closets. Of course, some might just wear their normal clothes, but I think most people prefer to put on something more comfy as soon as they come home; whether they will be doing productive stuff or just lazing around. Considering that we all spend a considerable share of our time at home, I think loungewear deserves at least some of our wardrobe-planning attention. But a huge selection of clothes isn’t necessary, even just a couple of nice but comfortable pants or shorts are better than just putting on the same ratty, old pair of sweats every day. Tell me in the comments what you guys wear at home!

your post was needed….it is definitely a neglected part of most peoples closet…….being comfortable at home is definitely something women deserve but it should be comfy clothing that still makes you look feel sexy too…..!!!

Haha I’m generally too lazy to change once I get home – so if im weaing something uncomfortable ill generally just take it off and be half nakey – and it its cold, i shove my dressing gown on, hahaha. I wish i owned some pretty loungewear!

since moving to LA (from NY) + entering the consulting/freelance world, loungewear (which i equate as effortless chic wear) has become somewhat of my everyday wear. i freed my mind from associating comfort with the bum-look or not-to-be-caught in-outside of home looks. now loungewear is mixed with heels or my sandal and handbag designs to some of my necklace designs…in the end the look is a soulful expression of my creative self. it is functional, unique and comfortable. when i return home it is just a matter of removing some parts if necessary (mainly the accessories) and continuing with the workday…for bedtime a quick shower slip on of boyfriend’s whatever i find does the trick!
by the way, i love love the sweatshirt/drawstring sweatshorts combo in the first set of pics above…can you provide a link to wear i can purchase this? my closet is in need of this. thkx

Hi, In the winter some jogging trousers and when’s become hotter some short cotton shorts !
honestly I look quite ridiculous when I’m at home, I should definitely get some nicer lounge wear. The thing about lounge wear though is as soon as I put it on the day is over, all productivity is gone and I will probably stay at home and eat unhealthy things. Not only do I dress the way I feel but my clothes can also influence the way I will feel so I avoid lounge wear (except on sundays :))

An amendment to my previous post: the #1 rule of communal living is WEAR DECENT PAJAMAS. Don’t be that girl who walks around without pants.
I live in a college dorm so “home” is also public. Cropped tees or sweaters and American Apparel dolphin shorts are my staples, plus silk camisoles and soft cardigans when I want to feel extra pretty… although final exams force me to resort to ratty sweats :P

When am lounging at home I enjoy raiding my boyfriend’s closet. I love putting on his XL shirts and just bum on the couch or lazy around in the house. So free and relaxing !!
Great post… loungewear really doesn’t get enough attention! I love to wear leggings with a loose t shirt or a loose comfy sweater (although in my view, I wouldn’t wear leggings outside of the house unless my bum’s covered!)
I almost always wear nice clothes, unless I’m sick. Then, I put on the sweats and really relax.
Let the Lounging begin. What no recommendations for men or is it just watch?
