Until very recently I didn’t really believe that in-season fruit and vegetables really taste better than off-season produce that traveled many air miles or was stored for months in climate-controlled containers. But it’s true – nectarines and peaches for example have a lot more flavour during late spring and summer time while the ones they have in store right now are more expensive and taste kind of watery. I found these cool cheat sheets by Chasing Delicious that break down the seasonal availability of all kinds of produce and make seasonal shopping a lot easier!
What about you? How strict are you about seasonal shopping?

An interesting read, since its important to eat right and stick to fruits and vegetables of the season!
Shopping at the local growers’ market is a great way to ensure one eats in season. Sometimes I hanker for something out of season but I am usually able to convince myself that waiting is part of the deliciousness.

Something useful as we all know consumption of fruits and veggies are so important. Suggestion: print and post somewhere in the kitchen, or on fridge.
